Guide to Thesprotia

The one and only land of Thesprotia: An experience that reaches all the senses, stretching from the western foothills of Mount Pindos, gradually sloping down to the sea.

Nestling among the foothills lie narrow valleys crossed by the rivers Acheron and Kalamas, while the area boasts a magnificent coastline full of idyllic beaches, small coves and picturesque harbours that starts at Sagiada and stretches as far as the beaches of Perdika. Sun, sea, mountain scenery, history and tradition blend harmoniously to impress any visitor looking to explore an enchanting destination with a myriad of variations.

The natural environment of Thesprotia enchants with its many changing landscapes: imposing mountains with lush forests and wildflowers, rivers, wetlands and endless lacy beaches, cliffs overhanging the sea, trees leaning down to touch crystal clear waters.

A land that invites you to discover it, experience it, take the time to walk through it. To take home some thyme and sage, to taste the honey and oil, basil and mint. To sample traditional family recipes, drink the tsipouro and the wine.

Predatory birds such as lesser spotted eagles, buzzards are visiting the site in order to hunt. In the northern part of the marsch, there is a large area covered by water lilies. During tha late of May the water lillies are flowering, thus offering a unique spectacle for the visitor.
