Famous Beaches in Sivota

If you look at the area of Sivota Thesprotia from above it resembles Scandinavian fjords! It is not only the beautiful turquoise and emerald waters, but also the indented coastline with numerous coves and bays, most of which can only be reached by boat.

Sivota is located a few kilometers away from Igoumenitsa. It is now within easy reach via the Egnatia Odos National Road and because of this, its popularity has risen sharply. You can choose to spend your vacation in the plentiful variety of accommodation available in the area, or choose somewhere a little quieter nearby and make daily excursions to the idyllic beaches.

Bella Braka, a famous exotic beach which overwhelms social media in the summer, is the first choice for a swim. Not one, but two beaches almost touching each other, separated by narrow strip of sea. One beach can be approached by car from the village of Sivota, and the other is the beach of the small island that bears the name Mourtemeno. Walking through the water, which barely reaches the knee, and you will find yourself on a light-coloured sandy beach, with tufted trees that reach down to the waves, offering the welcome opportunity to sit and relax in the shade. If you wish, you can hire small boats from the port of Sivota for as many hours as you like, so that you can get to some of the amazing secluded beaches and coves that pepper the coastline. The beach that you should not miss during your trip is Piscina (the ‘swimming pool’), which is exactly what its name suggests! The waters are crystal clear and turquoise you actually have the impression of swimming in a pool, in some very exotic destination! Of course it is not an organised beach (no sunbeds, umbrellas etc), so it is generally good to take all the essentials with you.

Gallikos Molos, Zavia, Mega Ammos, Mikri Ammos, Mega Ntrafi and Agia Paraskevi are some more of the beautiful beaches where you can enjoy a dip in the cool, clear waters just a short distance from the village of Sivota.

The port of Sivota is the natural conclusion to your wonderful day. Picturesque, full of tourist shops, tavernas, restaurants and cafes, this is the place to relax and enjoy good food while watching the sun sink slowly into the sea!

Before you leave do not forget to drive a few kilometers to Perdika in order to swim at the amazing beaches of Karavostasi and Arilla or to eat in the little tavernas there. Perdika, an upcoming destination between Sivota and Parga, is famous for its excellent local meats with which it supplies the entire region, and it will definitely win you over if you’re looking for peace, tranquility and high quality amenities on your vacation!
