Voidomatis River Rafting

Voidomatis, a tributary of Aoos, is one of the cleanest rivers in Europe with a total length of 15 km, crossing one of the most beautiful mountainous landscapes of Greece, Vikos gorge. Voidomatis is particularly popular among rafting or kayaking enthusiasts and it is considered to be the most suitable and safe river for beginners. Several outdoor activities companies operate in the area, undertaking to organize in full detail a rafting descent for you and your friends.

The starting point for rafting in the Voidomatis River is Aristi Bridge, right in the heart of the Vikos-Aoos National Park. The descent takes about 2 hours; it is easy, without any particular difficulty and goes through a lush green landscape of striking beauty, with natural springs gushing from the rocks and rich vegetation. In summer, the most daring do not hesitate to dive into the cold water of the river, whose temperature is as high as 4-5 °C all year round at its peak.

Along the Voidomatis River you will come across some of the most stunning stone bridges. The most famous is Klidonia Bridge (or Klidoniavista), at the exit of Vikos gorge. In the middle of the route, you will make a stop to visit the abandoned monastery of Agioi Anargyroi, built in the 16th century, and at the end of the route you will pass under Klidonia Bridge with the small-scale artificial waterfall, thus ending a truly memorable experience.
