One of Epirus’s unique characteristics is being a crossroads of many different cultures and religions. Throughout its long history, its cities and villages have undergone various influences from East and West of Greece and these are clearly visible in the current religious landscape, at the center of which however are the exceptionally beautiful Byzantine temples and buildings. Old cathedrals, chapels built on steep ground, well-preserved mosques, the Jewish synagogue. All this and more create a multicultural mosaic that is definitely worth exploring!
